The Alabama Dept of archives and History lists 2 Jackson Champions, onein Co. B, 2d Al Cav and one in Co.I, 15th AL Inf Reg. I believe thecorrect one is the latter since it lists Rebecca J. Champion as widow. Ialso found a burial in Richmond, VA that matches.

Had several natural springsnearby. Opened 10 July 1862. Surgical hospital with 416 beds. Dr. AbrahamSchultz Miller, surgeon-in-charge. Location: Manchester, Virginia, onJames River, just east of Richmond and Petersburg Rail Road bridge.Present site just east of south end of Manchester Bridge.
