Mother''s sister married a Panepinto

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Edward Stanley Bosek, 65, of Annadale, a trialattorney and dedicated family man, died Monday at home.

Mr. Bosek was born in Brooklyn on Saint Patrick''s Day in 1948. He settledin Annadale with his family in 1981.

Mr. Bosek attended Lafayette High School and then studied at BaruchCollege in Manhattan before receiving a law degree from St. John''sUniversity, Queens, in 1973.

Mr. Bosek enjoyed a distinguished legal career spanning four decades withtime spent at Leahey & Johnson, Weitz & Luxenberg, Seiden, Kaufman &Bosek, all located in Manhattan, and as an independent trial advocatecitywide.

He was always driven to right wrongs — both in and out of the courtroom —and to help his clients, saying, "Some attorneys take a case only if theythink it will enhance their stature. Not me. I take a case based onwhether the client has suffered injustice," family noted.

His professional successes include numerous multimillion dollar juryverdicts, including a $15 million verdict for a client paralyzed by ahospital, said family, as well as the invaluable legal advice he hasshared with family and friends over the years.

Mr. Bosek was very active in the Columbian Lawyers Association ofBrooklyn, for which he formerly served as president. He cared most aboutmentoring the younger lawyers in the organization and helping themsucceed.

A voracious reader with a curious mind, Mr. Bosek was an avidconservative who enjoyed listening to political talk radio and debatingpolicy.

He was a devout Catholic who served in the adoration at Holy Child R.C.Church, Eltingville, for over 10 years and ensured that both of hischildren received Catholic Jesuit educations.

Mr. Bosek was described as a generous, caring and charismatic man who wasalways ready to lend a hand.

He will forever be remembered as a devoted, supportive and lovinghusband, father, grandfather and brother, and a constant fixture at hischildren''s athletic events, said family.

"He was an incredibly generous man who helped everyone in need. He istruly an inspiration," said his daughter, Marissa DeSimone. "Most of allmy dad enjoyed his time with his grandchildren. They brightened hisworld, and his smile was always widest when he was with them."

In addition to his daughter, Marissa, Mr. Bosek is survived by his wifeof 42 years, the former Rosemarie Colucci; a son, Edward D.; his sister,Marilyn Ciaccio, and three grandsons.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Matthew Funeral Home, Willowbrook,with a mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Child Church. Burial will follow inResurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
