Indenture made the 24th day of March, MDCCLX, between Benjamin CHAPMANandJohn NIVISON, for 300 pounds, conveying 680 acres on South sideofMeherrin River, adjoining Quarter Spring, Fort Road, lands ofJosephHENSLEY, and PARHAM, and being land devised to the said BenjaminCHAPMANby the Last Will and Testament of John CHAPMAN. Witnesses were D.FISHER,W. EDWARDS, and Thos. SIMMONS. Indenture, Memorandum of Livery ofSeizin,and Receipt, were acknowledged in Court on March 24, 1760, byBenjaminCHAPMAN. Deed Book 6, page 436.

I, Mary WALL, widow and relict of John WALL, Gent., dec''d., for 250poundspaid by James WALL, Gent., Exor., Residuary Legatee named in theLast Willand Testament of the said John WALL, dec''d, relinquish herright of dowerin land devised in the Last Will and Testament, dated the27th day ofJuly, 1761. KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that we William Walker, DanielFisher,Richard Elliott & Andrew Meade are held and firmly bound untotheCommonwealth of Virginia in the sum of fifteen hundred pounds . . . tobepaid to the Governor of the said Commonwealth . . . Dated this 28thDayof Novr. 1785. The Condition of this obligation is such that whereastheabove bound William Walker is constituted and appointed Sheriff oftheCounty of Brunswick during pleasure by a Commission from theGovernorunder the Seal of the Commonwealth bearing date the [blank] Dayof[blank] 1785 if therefor the said William Walker shall well andtrulycollect all fines & forfeitures accruing or becoming Due to thesaidCommonwealth in the said County of Brunswick and shall duly accountforand pay the same into the Treasury, and shall also well and trulycollectand received all officers fees and dues put into his hands tocollect andduly account for and pay the same to the Officers to whomwhich fees aredue respectively at such times as are prescribed & limitedby Law andshall well and truly execute all Process and precepts to himdirected andpay and satisfy all sums of money & tobacco by him receivedby virtue ofany such Process to the Person or persons to whom the sameare due . . .and in all other things shall truly and faithfully performthe saidOffice of Sheriff during the time of his continuance in the saidofficethen this obligation to be void. This Indenture made this fifteenth Day of January 1790 BETWEENHartwellRains of the County of Brunswick of the one part and DanielFisher of theCounty of Greensville of the other part whereas the saidHartwell Rainsstands justly indebted to the said Daniel Fisher in the sumof twohundred & seventy eight pounds eight shillings and nine penceandintending to secure the payment thereof hath consented to mortgage tothesaid Daniel Fisher the following twenty five slaves (to wit) Jack,LittleJack, King, Will, Charles, Cloe, her son Frank, Aggi & her childrenNege,Tom Cock, Fanny, Will, Sopha and her children, Amey, Milley &Sarah,Frankey and her children, Tom Jones, Phillis, Archer & Ben, alsoVenus,Rochester & Fred, Hartsele, also a fellow named Peter . . .providednevertheless and this Indenture is upon this condition that ifthe saidHartwell Rains shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid untothe saidDaniel Fisher . . . the sum of two hundred & seventy eight poundseightshillings and nine pence with lawful interest thereon from this dateondemand than this Indenture and every thing therein contained shallceasedetermine be utterly void and of noneffect . . . This Indenture made this eleventh day of July, 1785 BETWEEN WilliamStithand Katharine his wife of the County of Brunswick, and Thomas StithandDaniel Fisher Trustees for the said William for the payment of a sumofmoney due from him the said William to Robert Turnbull of the CountyofPrince George of the one part, and Drury Stith of the County ofBrunswickof the other part . . . for and in consideration of the sum oftwohundred pounds . . . to the said Robert Turnbull in hand paid by thesaidDrury Stith the receipt whereof will appear by the saidTurnbull''sreceipt endorsed on theses Presents they the said William Stith&Katharine his wife and Thomas Stith and Daniel Fisher havegranted,bargained and sold . . . unto the said Drury Stith . . . all thattractor parcel of Land situate on Brunswick County on both sides of flatRockRoad on the Branches of Waqua & Sturgeon Creeks containing byestimationfive hundred and eighty one acres being formerly granted untoDrury Stithformerly of the said County by letters Patent dated the tenthDay ofAugust one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine, which said Landwas byhim disposed of to Richard Stith of the County of Bedford, and bythesaid Richard to Jshua (sic) Mabry, and he the said Drury Stithdepartingthis life without making any conveyance therefor, Drury Stithhis heir atLaw, in order to fix the fee simple of the said Land in thesaid Mabryexecuted a Deed bearing date the twenty third day of Novemberonethousand seven hundred and seventy two, and by the death of two ofthewitnesses thereto and the death of the said Drury the said Deed wasnotadmitted to Record till the year one thousand seven hundred andseventyeight when the same was proved by the surviving witness andRecorded andthe said William Stith having afterwards become a purchaserof the saidLands they the said Joshua Mabry and Richard Stith and theirwives andLucy Stith relict of the said Drury the younger all joined inaconveyance for the said Land and general warranty to the aboveWilliamStith by an Indenture of Bargain & Sale bearing date theeighteenth Dayof September one thousand seven hundred and seventy eightand dulyrecorded . . . This Indenture made this 6th day of May, 1785(?), between Thomas Butterofthe County of Brunswick Gentl. of the first part, Daniel Fisher oftheCounty of Greensville Attorney at Law of the second part andTheophilusField the younger son & heir at law of Theophilus Fieldmerchant late ofthe County of Prince George, decd. of the third part foras Richard Burchof the County of Brunswick was seized and possessed infee simple of andin a certain or parcel of land on the North side ofWaqua Creekcontaining by estimation three hundred & fifty acres more orlessconveyed to him by Richard Burch, Senior, by deed acknowledgedandrecorded in the County of Brunswick and bearing date the 22nd dayofSeptember One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty the boundaries ofwhichland reference to the said deed being had will fully appear andwhereasthe said Richard Burch the younger by his certain Indenturebearing datethe 26th day of August in the 1769 for the consideration ofOne Hundred &Ten Pounds to him in hand paid by the said Fisher conveyedthe said tractof land to him in fee simple which said Indenture waspartly proved inBrunswick County by Samuel Craft & Charles Mason two ofthe witnessesthereto but before the same was fully proved and admited(sic) to recordthe above named Thomas Butler purchased the same landwhereupon it wasagreed by the said Fisher, Butler and Burch that the saidBurch shouldmake the said Butler a conveyance for the same he the saidFisherconsenting to release his interest in the said land at anytimethereafter to him the said Butler or any other person that he mightsellto or that should claim under him in consequence of which agreementthesaid Burch by deed conveyed the said land with the appurtenances tohimthe said Thomas Butler as by the same the date the 27th day of March1774duly recorded in Brunswick Court will fully and at large appearandwhereas the said Thomas Butler sold Theophilus Field, fatherofTheophilus Field party to the presents a part of the said tract oflandfor the consideration of Two Hundred & Thirty Eight Pounds which thesaidButler actually received of him but never gave a conveyance forthelifetime of the said Theophilus now decd. by whose death intestatetheequitable right in the same hath descended to Theophilus the son heiratlaw as aforesaid . . . that the said Fisher & Butler in considerationofthe premises and in affirmance of the said Butler''s contract withthesaid Theophilus, the father as aforesaid as also for and inconsiderationof the sum of five shillings . . . do grant bargain sellalien enfeoffrelease and confirm unto the said Theophilus Field partythereto twohundred thirty eight acres of land part of the said tract sopurchased asaforesaid of the above mentioned Richard Burch and bounded asfolloweth(TO WIT) Beginning at Masons line near Waqua Creek at a Red Oakthencealong his line to a Hickory thence along his line to a Red Oak neartheGreat Road thence up the said road to Waqua Creek near the Mill Dam toanoak thence down the said creek to Wilkinsons line to a Turkey Oakethencealong the said line to Masons at the Red Oake aforesaid at theBeginning. . . DEED - BRIGGS, Gray - Indenture made the 25th day of May, 1767,betweenGray Briggs and Dorothy, his wife, of Dinwiddie County, andJamesBalfour, Gent., for 220 pounds, conveying 350 acres, being the samelandpurchased of Daniel Fisher and by him of William Maclin. Indenturewasacknowledged in Court on May 25, 1767, by Gray Briggs.

The land where on the said Josias RANDALE (RANDLE) nowlives.Also one other plantation tract on Fountain Creek by the saidCreek, theRocky Run, George Waltons and Quarrels Swamps 400 acres andconsiderablepersonal estate.
