This Indenture made this third Day of August 1787 BETWEEN Joseph ElderandMary his wife of Brunswick County of the one part and Joshua Lucy ofthesame County of the other part . . . for and in consideration of thesum offifty pounds . . . doth full acquit and discharge the said JoshuaLucy . .. hath bargain and sold and doth by these presents bargain andsell untothe said Joshua Lucy . . . one parcel or Tract of Landcontaining byestimation one hundred and twenty Acres situate lying andbeing in thesaid County of Brunswick aforesaid and is bounded asfolloweth BEGINNINGat a pine on Mary Walker''s line, on the great branch,thence along thesaid Walker''s line to a corner hickory, thence along thesaid Walker''sline to a corner sweet gum on Fisher''s line, thence alongthe saidFisher''s line to the great branch, thence along the great branchto thesaid pine begun at . . . Signed by Joseph Elder and Mary Elder(her mark)and witnessed by John Judd (his mark), Jos. Fisher, and JoshuaHightower.Brunswick County Court the 22d Day of October 1787.
