Mabry, Phillip

Philip Mabry remains a mystery to us. His name appears in only fiverecords over a period of six years beginning in 1803. In 1803 PhillipMabry bought an unspecified tract of land on the Grove River in FranklinCounty from Huky Brown, paying $170. The same year Phillip Mabry’s nameappears for the first time on the Franklin County tax list. In 1805Phillip Mabry was a participant in the Georgia land lottery. He waslisted as an adjoining land owner on 20 December 1806 when Jesse Holland,Sr. sold land on the Grove River to his son, Jesse Holland, Jr. The finalrecord is a deed by which Phillip and Fanny Mabry sold 92 acres on theBroad River in Franklin County to Jones and Malone for $200. This deedwas witnessed by: J. Bush, Wm. Bush and J. Corley. We have also seen anote that this land was located in Wilkinson County. We have no furtherrecord of him after 1809. We can only conclude that he must have been ason of Joel and Mary Mabry and that he was married to a woman named Fanny(Frances). But we have no clue about what became of him.
