Biography
Adalbert II (c. 875–915[1]), called the Rich, son and successor ofAdalbert I of Tuscany, and grandson of Boniface II, was much concerned inthe troubles of Lombardy, at a time when so many princes were contendingfor the wrecks of the Carolingian Empire.[2] Before his father died in884 or 886, he is accredited the title of "count". He inherited from hisfather the titles of count and duke of Lucca and margrave of Tuscany.

Adalbert II died on 10 or 15 September 915 and was buried in thecathedral of Lucca. His widow Bertha was regent for their young son Guy.

Between 895 and 898, he married Bertha (c.863–8 March 925), the daughterof the Lothair II of Lotharingia and widow of the Count Theobald ofArles. Adalbert and Bertha had at least three children:
Guy (d. 3 February, 929),[3] succeeded his father as count and duke ofLucca and margrave of Tuscany.
Lambert (d. after 938), succeeded his brother in 929 as count and duke ofLucca and margrave of Tuscany, but lost the titles in 931 to hishalf-brother Boso of Tuscany.
