John W. Huntley, 79 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday Oct. 25,2003. He died peacefully at home in Fernandina Beach, Florida after along illness. He was born on September 15, 1924 at Century, Florida, oneof six children of Lacy and Maggie Lou Huntley. He grew up inJacksonville and attended Andrew Jackson High School. Mr. Huntley retiredin Miami, Florida in 1985 after forty two years with Greyhound Lines Inc.He moved to Fernandina Beach in 1990. He was a Charter member of AmeliaBaptist Church. He served on the first building committee and supervisedthe building of the first Sunday school building. He was also a trusteeof the Church. His grandson Ronald Lloyd precedes him in death. Survivorsinclude his wife of fifty six years, Evelyn O''Neal Huntley, A daughterBrenda and son- in-law, Al Feria, of Pembroke Pines, Florida, a sisterMargaret (Troy) Cashwell of Jacksonville and many nephews, nieces andfriends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at Amelia BaptistChurch in Fernandina Beach. The family will receive friends Monday 6:00to 8:00 PM at Oxley Heard Funeral Home in Fernandina Beach.
