Resided Dighton, MA and removed to Cambridge, on Little White Creek inWashington county, New York before Jan 14, 1794 at which date he wrote tohis daughter Marcy, the wife of Peleg Wilbur of Tiverton, R.I., thefollowing letter:
"Jan. the 14 in the 1794.
Cambreg at Lettel Whit Creek.
My Son and dotter. I take the optunity to inform you that I am wel andall me famely thanks be to God for it. And hoping these fue lines willfin you and yours in joy in the same blessings we injoy at presen. Ireseved your letter that you sent October and you rot to me that youwould have me look you out a place here and I bought a hundred acres ofland and if you com up here I will let you have (one?) it is a very goodPlace to trade in goods or to keep tavern. There is tue _____ not _____from here. But they makes a god el beger advance than you over there andyou may get your goods as chep here from york as you can there. newengland rom is a dolar per garlen and other things a lik that and I shudhave you come up her as sun as you can By all mens if you can com and assoon as you can.
